IR Spectroscopy at the NSLS, BNL

[If you had graphics, you would see part of the U4IR beamline]

We utilize the U4IR beamline at the National Synchrotron Light Source at Brookhaven National Laboratory for Far-IR spectroscopy. We built a special sample chamber vacuum box, seen in the center of the picture, to accommodate Heli-Tran liquid helium flow cryostats. The measurement of small samples at low temperatures (down to 4 Kelvin) is now easily accomplished.

We also utilize beamline U2B for mid-IR spectroscopy when high resolution (up to 0.5 wavenumbers) or high beam intensity is required.
